Blog #1: Who am I?

My name is Emily Spetka and I am a freshman at Ohio State. I am 19 years old and my birthday is Feb. 6.  I am from Toledo, Ohio and I attended St. Ursula Academy for high school. I did a few different sports in high school, such as dance, both hip hop and lyrical, horseback riding, and crew. I own my own horse named Hunter, and I also have 3 dogs along with various other pets. Some hobbies that I enjoy are traveling, wakeboarding, and cooking. I have traveled to Hawaii, Italy, and was a foreign exchange student in Barcelona, Spain part of my senior year. I plan on traveling to Greece, Germany, and other places during the next few years. I also enjoy spending time with my family, especially at my cottage on Devil’s Lake in Michigan. I enjoy the warm weather, and anything that has to do with the water. I am a very active person, but I also enjoy relaxing. I am very shy at first, but as you get to know me I can be very outgoing. I am very ambitious and love to learn new things. My major is Bio and I hope to some day become a physician/surgeon. Both of my parents are in the medical field and that has inspired me to follow in their footsteps. I have a younger bother, who is 17 years old and his name is Matthew. For the most part, my brother and I get along. I would say that I am a very understanding and supportive person. I care deeply for others and am always willing help others no matter what. My family and friends have said that I have a good heart and that they can trust me with anything. I am a big activist in the fight against breast cancer and plan on getting more involved throughout my college career. My favorite colors are pink and turquoise. I love Italian food, sweets, and milk. I am also a new member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and plan on holding a position in there in the future.
